The Seahawks Connection to Maine

The University of Maine got its mask from a Falmouth resident and collector. A museum curator at the University of Washington said a photograph of the Kwakwaka’wakw transformation mask was the inspiration for the Seattle Seahawks' logo.

If the New England Patriots lose to the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl on Feb. 1, the fault may not lie with coach Bill Belichick or quarterback Tom Brady or with how much air pressure is in the football.

The fault may be Gretchen Faulkner’s.
