Holy Fukushima Batman…We’re screwed!

There is talk of an apocalypse and I think the word is particularly well chosen. Practically everything is out of control

Gunther Oettinger/EU Energy Commissioner.

This is last years estimate.  After the article excerpts, the maps at the bottom show that we will be stranded with this for a while.  Worth checking out the links, and then wonder why we haven’t heard about this.

Must be something to do with the surplus population.  It seems to me to be a bigger story than the deficit.

Gary, maybe you should stay in Newark…

In terms of severity, this accident left Three Mile Island in the rear-view mirror several days ago.

Peter Bradford/Former Commissioner at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

If you live on the west coast of Canada or the United States, you’re pretty much already screwed at this point thanks to the Japanese earthquake and tsunami of 2011.  Radiation levels are already increasing in the food and water, babies born with thyroid issues linked to radiation are rising quickly and governments in Canada and the United States are raising the “acceptable levels” of certain toxic substances in the food being shipped in from Japan.

Holy Fukushima

(NaturalNews) If you live on the West Coast of the U.S. or Canada, you may want to reconsider your water filtration method as well as how you select and prepare food. Evidently, the nightmare of Fukushima is far from over - another 16 million years to be exact. Due to the astonishingly long half-life of iodine-129, the whole ecosystem of the Pacific Coast will be contaminated pretty much forever.

Here are several precautions that can help shield individuals from a radioactive food supply:
- View all fish and crustaceans from the Pacific Ocean as tainted.
- Always use filtered water for cooking and drinking.
- Pay attention to the origin of dairy.
- Wash any produce thoroughly with natural soap and rinse with purified water.
- Avoid meat from contaminated regions (including wild game).

Various reports indicate that the incidence of congenital hypothyroidism is increasing in developed nations, and that improved detection and more inclusive criteria for the disease do not explain this trend entirely. One risk factor documented in numerous studies is exposure to radioactive iodine found in nuclear weapons test fallout and nuclear reactor emissions. Large amounts of fallout disseminated worldwide from the meltdowns in four reactors at the Fukushima-Dai-ichi plant in Japan beginning March 11, 2011 included radioiodine isotopes. Just days after the meltdowns, I-131 concentrations in US precipitation was measured up to 211 times above normal. Highest levels of I-131 and airborne gross beta were documented in the five US States on the Pacific Ocean. The number of congenital hypothyroid cases in these five states from March 17-December 31, 2011 was 16% greater than for the same period in 2010, compared to a 3% decline in 36 other US States (p < 0.03). The greatest divergence in these two groups (+28%) occurred in the period March 17-June 30 (p < 0.04). Further analysis, in the US and in other nations, is needed to better understand any association between iodine exposure from Fukushima-Dai-ichi and congenital hypothyroidism risk.

By then the tracer cloud has penetrated to depths of more than 400 m, spanning the western and central North Pacific between 25°N and 55°N, leading to a rapid dilution of concentrations. The rate of dilution declines in the following years, while the main tracer patch propagates eastward across the Pacific Ocean, reaching the coastal waters of North America after about 5–6 years. Tentatively assuming a value of 10 PBq for the net 137Cs input during the first weeks after the Fukushima incident, the simulation suggests a rapid dilution of peak radioactivity values to about 10 Bq m−3during the first two years, followed by a gradual decline to 1–2 Bq m−3 over the next 4–7 years. The total peak radioactivity levels would then still be about twice the pre-Fukushima values.

Fukushima, the movie: http://bcove.me/cp9fol2w

If the world is going to get together and unite to invade some country that’s poisoning us, it shouldn’t be Syria. It should be Japan. Do you think Japan needs an intervention?

The Japanese have a problem asking for help. It is a big mistake; they badly need it.
