I am seriously concerned about where we are headed. The people that got us in the economic mess are still in charge, no major prosecutions for the criminals,: since they are politically connected. The kabuki theatre that passes for Washington is out of control. We’re in a tailspin, and they’re arguing about minor cuts and taxes that don’t solve the fundamental problems. There is no practical solution being discussed. We have exceeded 100% of GDP in debt, social security is broke (spending more than revenues), Medicare & Medicaid is a disaster that will likely implode as doctors abandon ship, Obama care is the next big drag on the economy, and there is no end in sight. We are currently borrowing almost 1/2 of the total expenditures.
The federal government borrowed 46 cents of every dollar it has spent so far in fiscal year 2013, which began Oct. 1, according to the latest data the Congressional Budget Office released Friday

At the next debt ceiling debacle, as the US credit is downgraded again, interest rates will rise and BANG (TEOTWAWKI). To top it off the US is likely in a recession since July. Hang on. At least through the holidays. Of December 21, whichever comes first.
Do we really deserve this? A Prague newspaper thinks so.
The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their president.

On top of it all, another appointment with Big Sis (TSA) tomorrow. I definitely have a case of the Mundays - and it’s only Saturday. Off to Whole Foods…
I fail to understand why global warming alarmists get so upset. If they are correct, then the global population will die out until a warming equilibrium is reached. If they are incorrect, then we have nothing about which to worry. Either way, nature wins in the end. As John Maynard Keynes said, "In the long run, we are all dead."
