It is worse to busy yourself with the trivial than to do nothing.

Productivity.  I am becoming unproductive reading about productivity.  Just in case though, here are some easy, simple questions to ask about what you’re doing to determine if it’s productive.  I would add, is it something that’s important to my development?

Why am I doing this?

What is the desired outcome?

When is the deadline and are there periodic checkpoints?

What is my role?

Who is responsible or accountable for which tasks or projects?

Do I have metrics or some form of measurement?

What are the possible roadblocks or obstacles?

What are the available resources?

How important is this project or task?

What can I do to be more effective?
