Wonderful news to wake up to. I am awake, I think. BTW, I am finding that the best reporting is from the BBC or Bloomberg. Another failure of the American news media focused on the ‘fantastisch’. When there are scores of people without food, water, shelter, the news is focused on a Nuclear accident that is more like a nuclear incident. We always fear what we don’t understand. The reactors are toast, cleanup will be complicated, but is nothing compared with loss of 1/2 of entire town of 20,000 people.
Tokyo Electric Power Co. engineers tried to stabilize three nuclear reactors damaged by the biggest earthquake in Japan’s history, as a second explosion disrupted efforts to cool fuel rods and prevent a meltdown.
The cooling system failed at the Dai-Ichi No. 2 reactor today, said Tokyo Electric, which runs the Fukushima nuclear plant 220 kilometers (135 miles) north of the nation’s capital. Tokyo Electric is pumping sea water into the reactor after pressure buildup led to explosions at two other reactors.
Fuel rods in the reactor are “not exposed” though water levels have fallen, said Akio Komori, a managing director at Tokyo Electric. A hydrogen explosion occurred at the No. 3 reactor today, following a similar blast on March 12 at the No. 1 reactor that destroyed the walls of its building.

THE GATHA OF IMPERMANENCE
All composite things are impermanent,
They are subject to birth and death;
Put an end to birth and death,
And there is a blissful tranquility.

Man Vs nature Who always wins that conflict?
