The black market of health care is alive and well. With the uninsured, a health care provider will accept a cash payment plan that a patient can afford. The billing rate for self pay are lower due to the lack of insurance paperwork required. My loved one owns a walk in clinic.
ReplyDeleteI read the whole AARP article... they did not say "DOH" in there once.
ReplyDeleteThey are adjusting costs "in small part" due to "Obamacare" - but more due to "untamed health care inflation" (sounds like more regulation is needed??).
And, based on the article, AARP would still vote for Obamacare because of the important policies it included.
That billing rates are less for the self-insured than for those covered by "Big Insurance" tells me that a public option would SAVE everyone a LOT of DOH! (except insurance companies, of course)
