We never know the worth of water

If The Gulf Was A Football Stadium...

If the Gulf of Mexico - the 7th largest body of water in the world, containing approximately 660 quadrillion gallons of water (that's 660 with 15 zeros) - was represented by Cowboys Stadium in Dallas - the largest domed stadium in the world - how would the spill stack up?
In this example, the amount of oil spilled - if the Gulf of Mexico was the size of Cowboys Stadium - would be about the size of a 24 ounce can of beer.

  1. Yeah, it's only the size of a can of beer, but if someone pissed in MY can of beer, I wouldn't be too pleased...

How about if it was YOUR can of beer?

Oh, and the cheerleaders had to leave the sidelines, too, due to potential health effects of the open can of beer on the field...

    :\

  2. Democrats refused to allow a vote today on an amendment introduced today by Rep. Paul Broun, R-Ga., to ensure press access to the gulf oil spill. Broun's amendment was a response to numerous reports that government authorities and BP are keeping the press away from areas affected by the spill. The amendment reads as follows:
Except in cases of imminent harm to human life, federal officials shall allow free and open access to the media of oil spill clean up activity occurring on public lands or public shorelines, including the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

  3. Late entry: I love the Beer can analogy.
If the guy is two rows above me. Shakes up and then opens the can on me and the 10's of thousands in the stands with me and a few score of mascots who can't breathe beer, the game would be pretty tough to watch. With or without cheerleaders !
    Cheers !
