I am extraordinarily patient, provided I get my own way in the end

Margaret Thatcher

How many months have 28 days?

[Answer Below]

In the discussion of Global Warming/Climate Change, there has been a general acceptance that CO2 can significantly affect earth’s temperature.  Rather than attempt to understand whether this is in fact true or not, we can be led to believe that it must be true since almost everyone else believes it.  The general media want us to believe that they practice responsible journalism, instead we are fed sensational extrapolations of what may occur if the temperature actually rises substantially.

I have heard from a selected few, “I just can’t take any more about Global Warming”.  I am amazed that anyone can buy into an argument that affects us personally, our children so substantially, and much of the world so dramatically, without really understanding the arguments, the agenda, and the implications.

Three points:

1.  It should be clear that acceptance of ‘facts’ without examination can be based on prejudice.  Example, I don’t like what’s going on, and this backs up my view of the world, so it must be true.  Critical examination and critical thought requires an open mind.

2.  There is much more to the ‘movement’ than ‘Global Warming’  The issue is not climate change since we can technologically adapt to higher temperatures, and it was much warmer in the medieval period than is projected for the next 100 years.  In fact, 6 million years ago, CO2 was estimated to be 5,000 ppm and temperatures were ‘normal’.  Sio the question becomes, what is really behind the climate change movement.  Who is leading it, and what is there true agenda.

3.  Can anyone else see the connection between 1950’s B-movies (http://www.bmovies.com/) and the Global Warming scare.  Then it was the specter of nuclear mutation.  Today it’s loss of the Polar Bear and flooding of New York.

Well, there was a video circulating that features Lord Christopher Monckton.  The 4 minute version was featured on Glenn Beck.  In a recent email to me, “NEVER would I agree with anything Glenn Beck says, simply because he's an inflammatory idiot”.  In reality, Glenn Beck is a self described ‘Rodeo Clown”.  He has a following for sure.  The point is that no where, repeat no where, was this information presented other than on the organizations web site except by Glenn Beck, then it spread quickly.  All I can say, is that given the state of today’s level of journalism, I applaud Glenn Beck.  And given the recent attack on Fox News, and the inability of the press to realize what it really means (except Helen Thomas and David Gergen possibly), I am losing faith in the Fourth Estate.

The talk is interesting if you haven’t completely given yourself to the “Climate Change'” acceptance.  The link to the entire speech (1:35) is here: You Tube

His presentation (17 MB) can be found here: Monckton_2009.pdf

If you watched the Great Global Warming Swindle, (http://www.veoh.com/) you will see many of the same arguments in this presentation.  The rebuttal to the arguments are here: http://csiro.au/files/files/pfb4.pdf

Answer:  All of them

  1. Another tid-bit about Mr. Beck.

He rants and raves about the dangers of the H1N1 vaccine, but when asked if he, personally, will be getting the vaccine, he won't tell, because, he doesn't want to prejudice his followers from doing what they think is right...

    Huh??

I read that as - there's money to be made in scaring people about the vaccine... so to admit he's getting it for himself and his children would prove he's just a talking (mostly screaming) head.

But, saying that... I have to agree, with 24x7 news, you'd think more journalists would actually dig deeper into the FACTS of stories. So, if it takes a screaming head to bring up the other side of the "global warming debate", I guess that's better than nobody.

Seems the "journalists" now get paid more to re-tweet than re-search. We all lose.
