In reading the stories that are starting to evolve from ACORN, I came across the phrase “the soft bigotry of low expectations”. Somehow, this seems to sum up all of the charges of prejudice, racism, and unreasonable attitudes in America.
The LA Times has an article on social dysfunction today.
There are plenty of theories about the recent incidents of rudeness involving Kanye West, Serena Williams and Rep. Joe Wilson. Some worry it's the manifestation of a deepening social dysfunction.
