Easter Bunny
The Easter bunny has become a symbol of Christianity's most important holiday.
The origins of the bunny are unclear. Rabbits are an ancient symbol of fertility and new life.
The Easter bunny arrived in America in the 1700s with German immigrants with their tradition of an egg-laying hare called "Osterhase" or "Oschter Haws."
Children made nests in which this creature could lay its colored eggs. We don't leave out carrots and the nests have become baskets, but the tradition continues.
Easter Candy
Easter is the second best-selling candy holiday in America, after Halloween.
Why chocolate eggs? Eggs are associated with Easter as a symbol of new life and Jesus' resurrection.
Jelly beans? Associated with Easter in the 1930's. In the US, over 16 billion jelly beans are made for Easter.
The top-selling non-chocolate Easter candy is the marshmallow Peep. Just Born began selling Peeps in the 1950s.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
