Caffeine isn't a drug, it's a vitamin!

In America you can buy bucket-sized cups of coffee in any flavour you like other than coffee-flavour.

Many presenters use caffeinated drinks to help them charge up for a presentation. They may find they do more harm than good.

Studies of the physical condition of people in various stressful situations, including giving short presentations, show that the average person creates large amounts of the stress hormones adrenaline and cortisol.

In fact, they produce the same amount of stimulation as 7 cups of coffee, which helps explain some of the symptoms of stage fright such as shaky hands, lack of concentration, and nervous bladder.

Be careful not to overdo the stimulants before a presentation; your body is taking care of that for you.

  1. I can understand the stress of presentations, I gave 6 sales presentations to various Energy companies trying to make a worn out power plant seem like the deal of a century.
The hardest part was aiming the laser pointer under extreme self induced stress. That little laser dot amplifies a tremble into Parkinson's disease.
