He who blames others has a long way to go on his journey

He who blames others has a long way to go on his journey. He who blames himself is halfway there. He who blames no one has arrived

Chinese proverb

The true story is not evident from 20 seconds of images and the one-minute intervbiew on television. The palestinian supporters the picket with signs have little true knowledge of the region or the culture. The following article from Dont confuse me with the facts reveals Islam in a different light that was not widely reported. When we think about situations in places far away, it is difficult to be able to comprehend issues without allowing our safe, free, comfortable existance to screen reality.

Hamas legalizes crucifixion (and amputation and blood revenge)

Column One: The 'realist' fantasy:

"On Tuesday, Hamas legislators marked the Christmas season by passing a Shari'a criminal code for the Palestinian Authority. Among other things, it legalizes crucifixion."PA Adopts Islamic Criminal Code:

"The criminal code adopted by the PA includes such punishments as lashes, amputation of thieves' hands, crucifixion, approval of blood revenge, and execution. According to the Arabic press, the law stipulates that only the victim of a crime can pardon opt to forgo the 'Koranic penalties'."Hamas are nothing but a bunch of savages. I feel for the poor people in Gaza who have to live under the rule of these beasts. I'm sure life for those in Gaza was much more bearable under the "occupation."

Dont confuse me with the facts

Looking up into the heavens we see there a veritable multitude of stars thrown across the empty spaces, whence a whole infinity of things might come down on us. How shall we not stand astonished and abashed at seeing the immensity of heaven, and, what greater still, that of the Sovereign Lord who made it?

ST. PETER OF ALCANTARA
Spanish Franciscan priest and mystic, 16th century
