If one prevents a man from working for the good of society while at the same time providing for the satisfaction of his own needs, then only one way remains open to him: to make himself richer and others poorer by the violent oppression and spoliation of his fellow men.

Ludwig von Mises

Nice…

People can judge me for what I've done. And I think when somebody's out in the public eye, that's what they do. So I'm fully comfortable with who I am, what I stand for, and what I've always stood for.

Hillary Clinton

It’s getting tense out there. When you are not accorded the appropriate deference, the response may be tenuous.  Yet the People should be the ones accorded defgerence by the elite political class…

During an appearance in Bluffton, South Carolina on Friday, a former Marine interrupted Clinton’s speech and asked him to address what Hillary was going to do about the VA.

“What do you think should be done with the VA?” Clinton said in a raspy voice, turning the question back on him and yielding the floor.

“The thing is, we had four lives in Benghazi killed and your wife tried to cover it up,” the Marine responded, eliciting boos and jeers from the crowd.

As the man continued to talk, audience members yelled at him to sit down. “Are you going to let me answer?” Clinton asked. “This is America. I get to answer,” he said. “You listen to me. I heard you,” Clinton snapped as the man turned around and began addressing the crowd.

“I heard your speech. They heard your speech. You listen to me now,” Clinton said, his voice cracking.

“Am I allowed to answer? I’m not your commander in chief anymore but if I were, I’d tell you to be more polite and sit down.”

“I wouldn’t listen!” the man shouted in return.

“Do you have the courage to listen to my answer? Don’t throw him out. Shut up and listen to my answer. I’ll answer it,” Clinton said as the man was pushed out of the gymnasium by sheriff’s deputies.

“Can I just saying something? That’s what’s wrong: his mind has been poisoned by lies and he won’t listen,” Clinton said.

A woman just jumped up and began shouting at the former president.

“Hillary lied over four coffins,” she said as a man near her yelled “Bullshit.”

“She lied and she lied to those families. So all those families are liars?” she said as Clinton tried to stop her and a Secret Service agent moved closer to the former president.

“Did she lie?” the woman said as Clinton responded, “Will you let me answer?”

“No,” he said. “Why are you afraid to listen to my answer?” Clinton said.

“Are you afraid?” he asked her. “No I’m not afraid because I know you’re going to lie,” she responded.

The video shows her then forcibly removed from the room. Clinton never did answer.

In the beginning the organizer's first job is to create the issues or problems.

Saul D. Alinsky

Teachers should teach their subjects. They should not teach peace or war or freedom or obedience or diversity or uniformity or nationalism or antinationalism or any other agenda that might properly be taught by a political leader or a talk-show host.

Stanley Fish

Tina commented: There are so many holes in that "plan" which has no basis in reality... I do not understand why the Fish would reprint such drivel.

Thanks Tina. In the Link I did a few days ago referring to Saul Alinsky, I should have done more homework.   The list of rules was a variant of Communist Rules for Revolution. I should have done more research as normal. The correct Rules for Radicals appears at the bottom. However, the intent was to get people to think about Obama, and Clinton and do some research on their past, their influences, and their actions.

H. Clinton wrote her senior thesis at Wellesley College about him An Analysis of the Alinsky Model  Link to Paper. According to Allan Schuster, professor of Political Science at Wellesley , she chose her senior thesis topic because she had met Alinsky in high school and had heard him speak at a meeting she had attended in Boston. It is reported that Alinsky recognized her talents as an organizer during the Wellesley period and offered her a significant position after college. Excerpts from Hillary Clinton Quarterly

Obama learned his lesson well. I am proud to see that my father's model for organizing is being applied successfully beyond local community organizing to affect the Democratic campaign in 2008. It is a fine tribute to Saul Alinsky as we approach his 100th birthday." --Letter from L. David Alinsky, son of Saul Alinsky

Obama helped fund 'Alinsky Academy': "The Woods Fund, a nonprofit on which Obama served as paid director from 1999 to December 2002, provided startup funding and later capital to the Midwest Academy.... Obama sat on the Woods Fund board alongside William Ayers, founder of the Weather Underground domestic terrorist organization.

Obama participated in a panel discussion following the opening performance in Chicago of the play “The Love Song of Saul Alinsky,” a work described by the Chicago Sun-Times as “bringing to life one of America’s greatest community organizers.”

Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals

Always remember the first rule of power tactics: Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have.

The second rule is: Never go outside the experience of your people. When an action is outside the experience of the people, the result is confusion, fear, and retreat.

The third rule is: Wherever possible go outside the experience of the enemy. Here you want to cause confusion, fear, and retreat.

The fourth rule is: Make the enemy live up to their own book of rules. You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity.

The fourth rule carries within it the fifth rule: Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.

The sixth rule is: A good tactic is one that your people enjoy. If your people are not having a ball doing it, there is something very wrong with the tactic.

The seventh rule: A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag. Man can sustain militant interest in any issue for only a limited time, after which it becomes a ritualistic commitment, like going to church on Sunday mornings.

The eighth rule: Keep the pressure on, with different tactics and actions, and utilize all events of the period for your purpose.

The ninth rule: The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.

The tenth rule: The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition. It is this unceasing pressure that results in the reactions from the opposition that are essential for the success of the campaign.

The eleventh rule is: If you push a negative hard and deep enough it will break through into its counterside; this is based on the principle that every positive has its negative.

The twelfth rule: The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative. You cannot risk being trapped by the enemy in his sudden agreement with your demand and saying "You're right — we don't know what to do about this issue. Now you tell us."

The thirteenth rule: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.

Let the liberal turn to the course of action, the course of all radicals, and the amused look vanishes from the face of society as it snarls, “That’s radical!” Society has good reason to fear the radical. Every shaking advance of mankind toward equality and justice has come from the radical. He hits, he hurts, he is dangerous. Conservative interests know that while liberals are most adept at breaking their own necks with their tongues, radicals are most adept at breaking the necks of conservatives.

Saul D. Alinsky

It will set a precedent for the government legally conscripting any and every entity they desire for the purposes of citizen surveillance and metadata collection.

Edward Snowden

The power to force a company to undermine security protections for its customers may seem compelling in a particular case, but this week’s order has very significant implications both for technology and the law. Not only would it require a company to create a new vulnerability potentially affecting millions of device users, the order would also create a dangerous legal precedent. The next time an intelligence agency tries to undermine consumer device security by forcing a company to develop new flaws in its own security protocols, the government will find a supportive case to cite where before there were none.

Is this the Obama Gameplan?

Will it be completed by Bernie or Hillary?

The reason this country continues its drift toward socialism and big nanny government is because too many people vote in the expectation of getting something for nothing, not because they have a concern for what is good for the country.

Lyn Nofziger

The plan…

1. Healthcare: Control healthcare and you control the people.

2. Poverty: Increase the poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.

3. Debt: Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes and this will produce more poverty.

4. Gun Control: Remove the ability for people to defend themselves from the government. That way you are able to create a police state.

5. Welfare: Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and Income)

6. Education: Take control of what people read and listen to take control of what children learn in school.

7. Religion: Remove the belief in God from the government and schools.

8. Class Warfare: Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take (Tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.

From Obama and Clinton’s (Hillary) reported mentor/advisor, Saaul David Alinsky.  Born January 30, 1909.  Author of Rules for Radicals and Reveille for Radicals. Founder of community organizing.

What is missing is the attack on police, weaponizing of police, surveillance, and breking the immigration system (even though it was bureaucratic disaster before).

Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word, equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude.

Does My Dog Love Me?

At the beginning of the year, I asked the undergrads in my Animal Behavior class what they hoped to learn this semester. We discussed that Animal Behavior would cover the hows and whys of the entire animal kingdom, but they returned to their real question: "Sure, the bee waggle dance sounds cool, but does my dog love me?"

I'm no stranger to this question, and probably neither are you. When it comes to dog love, two camps emerge: those who pose the question, and those wondering why anyone would bother asking the most obvious question on the planet. "Of course dogs love us!" scream the commenters in any article discussing dog love.

In truth, our affluent, establishment Democrats core dogmas – education is the solution to all problems, professionals deserve to lead, the downfall of the working class is the inevitable price we pay for globalization

I was suprized to see this article in the Guardian.  The image of the Republicans as the party of big business is shattered.  Clinton led the transition to Democrats as the party of Big Finance, Big Pharma, Big…

No wonder there is so much anger….

Stunned by the rise of Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton has been at pains to assure the Democratic rank and file that she too understands their concerns; that just like her rival, she is capable of denouncing wealthy interests, of promising to break up big banks and even of hinting that she might prosecute powerful financiers.

After her landslide defeat in New Hampshire last week, she conceded that “the way too many things were going just wasn’t right”. There was a difference between her and the senator from Vermont, however: she was the candidate who would get things done, who could “actually make the changes that make your lives better”.

These are noble sentiments. Unfortunately, what voters are rejecting is not Hillary the Capable; it is the party whose leadership faction she represents as well as the direction in which our modern Democrats have been travelling for decades.

…Unfortunately, focusing on the money being mustered behind Hillary Clinton by various lobbyists and Wall Street figures misses this point. The problem with establishment Democrats is not that they have been bribed by Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and the rest; it’s that many years ago they determined to supplant the GOP as the party of Wall Street – and also to bid for the favor the tech industry, and big pharma, and the telecoms, and the affluent professionals who toil in such places.

Consider the revolving door between Washington and Wall Street, which drew so much public outrage in the early days of the Obama administration … or the revolving door between Washington and Silicon Valley, which has been turning briskly in recent years without much public notice at all. Or the deal the pharmaceutical companies got as a result of the Obamacare negotiations. Or the startlingly different ways in which Obama’s Treasury Department treated beleaguered bankers and underwater homeowners. Or the amazing double standard his Justice Department seems to have erected for dishonest mortgage financiers and dishonest mortgage borrowers. Or the way office-holding Democrats of nearly every rank throw money at the people they call “innovators” while telling working-class Americans that little can be done about their ruined lives.

I hate how government spends my money

On one of the morning entertainment “celebrity” butt-kissing television shows today Matt Lauer snarled at Donald Trump about how he thought Trump was not quite as “statesman-like” has Matt would prefer. He then demanded to know when Trump would “release” his tax returns, asking him if he thinks people would be “shocked” to learn what a small rate he pays.  Trump responded by saying:  “I fight like hell to pay as little taxes as possible because I hate how government spends my money.”  Matt had an expression on his face like a child who had just had his ice cream cone snatched out of his hand.

Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote!

Benjamin Franklin

After seeing interviews from Watter’s World, it dawns on me that we are sooo doomed.

Rights aren’t rights if someone can take them away. They’re privileges. That’s all we’ve ever had in this country, is a bill of temporary privileges. And if you read the news even badly, you know that every year the list gets shorter and shorter. Sooner or later, the people in this country are gonna realize the government does not give a fuck about them! The government doesn’t care about you, or your children, or your rights, or your welfare or your safety. It simply does not give a fuck about you! It’s interested in its own power. That’s the only thing. Keeping it and expanding it wherever possible.

Socialism: The Parable of the Lemonade Stand

Satire: Our teenage daughter decided to raise money for that cute kid you see on TV, trying to raise money for his children's hospital. Because we made sure her bedtime stories were inspired by Ludwig von Mises, Russell Kirk, and William F. Buckley, Jr., her decision to open a lemonade stand came as no surprise. The organic lemons came from a tree we planted years ago, the potable water came from our own well. She placed her cardboard lemonade stand in our front yard, adjacent to the sidewalk.

Then, arm-in-arm, along came Bernie, Hillary, Barack, Elizabeth, and Michael, followed by Michael's pistol-packing body guards. Michael said, "Kid, as a former mayor, I know you gotta have a city permit to sell those sugar-laced 16-oz. beverages."

"I don't, your Honor. But I am helping a licensed, tax-exempt charity. My sweetener is: Stevia rebaudiana."

"Well, we'll see about that," mumbled Michael.

"Miss," said Barack, "I don't see any minorities working here. Of folks like me, you need 13-percent."

"But sir," there's just 100-percent of me and I must keep my overhead low."

"By the way, you got ObamaCare?"

"No, sir, ObamaCare is too expensive and I don't get to keep the doctor who delivered me. So, Dad started my own health-savings plan IRA. By the time I'm old enough to need extensive medical care, I will be able to pay my own way."

"Proud of you," said, Hillary. "Back when my mother named me after Sir Edmund Hillary and when I was dodging bullets in Bosnia, I was a feminist like you."

"Ma'am, I am not a feminist. While I am for equal pay for equal work, I cannot do everything that men can do and men cannot do everything that I can do. God made us different for a reason."

"Well, I'm not sure I believe in that God stuff," said Bernie. "Also, I notice you only charge $1.00 for 16-oz. of lemonade. Under my plan, 90 cents will go for taxes. You would be wasting your time here."

"Sir, you are correct. I would have no incentive to do this work."

"Look, kid," said Elizabeth," you must pay taxes because you did not build this road here or build the sidewalk that brings your customers to you." Barack nodded his agreement.

"Beg to differ, ma'am. The taxes paid by my family helped pay for the roads. My Dad and I and laid the forms and poured this sidewalk ourselves. And it is on our property."

"Speaking of property," said Bernie, "this would be a good place for low-income housing and, if your folks don't want to sell your land, we can have the state use the Power of Eminent Domain to take it. And besides, I don't believe in private property to begin with. Anyway, the state should be running this lemonade business.

"But sir, my volunteer labor keeps overhead low and every dime I make goes to that little kid in a wheelchair. Likely, the state would be selling only 8-oz. cups for $5.00. No one would buy lemonade at that price."

"Listen, kid," said Michael, "that's enough of your Capitalist crap. Okay men, she's got no permit. Shut her down!"
